The last four day of our travel we spent in Las Vegas, the never sleeping city in Nevada, USA.
We were there ten years ago, so it wasn’t completely new to us. But still, some things have changed. You cannot gamble with coins anymore! For us, it was quite a big part of the fun hearing the coins falling out of the gambling machines. Now, they just accept vouchers or dollar bills.
Also, Las Vegas got quite expensive. Ten years ago, we were able to sleep in a four-star hotel for about 30 €, whereas it is now more than 100 €.
Also going to one of the buffets was really cheap and you were able to have a feast with lobster and steak for under 13 bucks: you now have to pay much more.
But anyway, Las Vegas is still a lot of fun!
Of course, we gambled. But mostly on the machines with lower bets. And a little bit of Roulette. But overall, we weren’t that successful this time.
And we went to the buffet at Palms Hotel. This hotel is a little bit off the Strip, but offers a great buffet for a still good price.
One evening we also watched a magic show, but we thought that this was more for kids than for adults with just little unknown tricks. But it was still a lot of fun.
Most of the time we walked around the Strip and the casinos and watched the different kind of people gambling, drinking and having a good time.
We also took the chance to go to a great outlet mall to get new shoes. We walked so many kilometers with ours the last month, that we really had to throw away our old sneakers.
We were also lucky with the weather. The wind was quite chilly, but it was sunny and warm, so we were also able to relax on the hotel pool and to get a little bit of tan.
Overall, we really enjoyed the last couple of days and are kind of sad, that we have to leave for Germany now.
